Wisdom teeth removals are some of the most frequent oral treatments in dentistry. Not every wisdom teeth will have to be extracted, but many patients simply do not possess sufficient room for their teeth to comfortably fit into the mouth or patients have a hard time keeping wisdom teeth clean and bacteria free as these molars are too far to the back in the oral cavity.
Wisdom teeth that have become impacted might produce a number of issues including root resorption, bone loss on the posterior side of the tooth directly in front of them, irritated, swollen, or inflamed gum tissues around a partially erupted wisdom tooth, or tenderness that seems to emerge and disappears at the wisdom tooth site. Some have suggested that impacted wisdom teeth could also lead to crowding of the teeth. Occasionally, unerupted wisdom teeth might develop cysts, which in fewer instances, these kinds of cysts may become cancerous!
